Function
The Multi-Spindle Application Engineer is responsible for defining, preparing, and executing machine setups and customer trials. Additionally, they participate in the development and validation of new machines.
Mission of the position
Our mission is to design, define, and execute machine setups for Tornos Multi-Spindle machines, ensuring successful machine validation, customer trials, and trade show exhibitions.
Your responsibilities
- Prepare setup files, including programming, designing, and ordering tooling, according to acceptance conditions and client specifications
- Conduct setup and customer trials on Multi-Spindle machines
- Create tooling solutions in partnership with suppliers
- Calculate cycle time and costs, and define machining layout and equipment
- Ensure the machine is compliance with project or customer specification
- Provides technical support to colleagues in the field of processes, tooling and ISO programming
- Travel to trade shows or clients' sites for machine acceptance, process startup support and machine startup coaching
- Conduct time, cost, setup, and tooling studies, and define machine equipment for offers
- Analyze and prepares feasibility studies of parts according to client specifications
- Support machine in-house installation (bar feeder, smoke extractor, etc.)
Your profile
CFC polymecanician or machining mechanic, specializing in turning, preferably supplemented by a technician or engineer diploma in mechanics.
Skills
- Very good knowledge of CNC Multi-Spindle machines and their operation
- Able to develop CNC-Multi-Spindle machining layout and cutting tools
- Sound knowledge of ISO programming
- Experience in the Micromechanics, Watchmaking or Medical field is a plus
- Proficiency with 2D and/or 3D CAD tools is a plus
- For this role, proficiency in English is essential. Additionally, knowledge of German or French is considered a plus
